What is an Ebook?

The term “ebook” means an “electronic book”. The content has been converted into a digital book that you can download to your PC or other device and read on a screen instead of on paper. An ebook may be a single file or it may be made up of several small files that serve different functions when the ebook is accessed.

Different ebook formats have emerged. For many years already PDF files have been the preferred way to distribute and read ebooks on computers, and now the Kindle and ePub formats have emerged as the preferred formats for reading on ebook readers.
